We had D.E.A.R. (drop everything and read) on Wednesday. Students across the state of Texas read for thirty minutes from 10:00-10:30. Here are some pictures of our the kids reading. Overall, I think most of them enjoyed it. ;0)
We had a great first day today with stories like Amelia Bedelia's First Day of School, First Day Jitters and drank "Jitter Juice" to take away our nervous jitters, and then Chrysanthemum to learn that our name is perfect for us. We will share our name activity in class tomorrow. Attached are the First Day in Second Grade photos for you to enjoy.
We had four cute, adorable yellow lab puppies visit our room today. The kids loved it and were really good. Thank you to the Vineyard family for sharing the joy and love of puppies with us.
Moving around the room trying to find area and perimeter of the shapes I drew on the floor. The masking tape is a little hard to see in the pictures.
Being from Illinois, I was surprised to get a day off for something called,"Battle of the Flowers." Now, I love it. Enjoy the pictures of the kids during Fiesta rotation.
We had a great time at Field Day!! We were all really cold because our water event was before lunch and the sun wasn't shining yet, after lunch it got really warn and would have been perfect, but that did not stop us from having fun.
We should have a fun day. Please have the kid's wear comfortable clothing and bring an extra outfit. We will be getting wet! It will be fun to see them work together to compete against the other second grade classes. I will try and get some photos to upload for parents that are not able to make it.
We started off the day with excitement!! The kids loved sharing Valentines with each other. Thank you to all our parents for making our day special. Have a great three day weekend and Happy Valentine's Day!!
